The Little Shop of Physics, Colorado State University’s signature science engagement program, will once again host its Spring Science Extravaganza Saturday, April 22.

The perennially popular, family-friendly event will take place from 11 a.m-3 p.m. on the Monfort Quadrangle. It will feature over 200 hands-on science experiment stations to excite and inspire both children and adults, as well as giant science demonstrations like stomp rockets, giant fog rings and ball-launching blowers.

Sensory-friendly options

New this year will be a sensory-friendly hour from 10-11 a.m., where members of the community with sensitivity to loud noises and other stimuli can enjoy an atmosphere with reduced sounds and lights. A sensory-friendly zone will also run all day in the Clark A lounge.

Getting here

Campus may be accessed by the Transfort Max Line, bicycle or car. Parking is mostly free on Saturdays (check signage) and is available at many locations including the Morgan Library, Engineering Building, Animal Sciences, and pay-to-park in the Lake Street and Pitkin Garages.

Green and Gold Weekend events

The Spring Science Extravaganza coincides with CSU Athletics’ Green and Gold Weekend, which includes the Grit Run 5K at 10 a.m. and the Green vs. Gold spring football game at 1 p.m.

Please note that the Grit Run will take place on Centre Avenue from 10-11 a.m., so walking access from the Morgan Library lot or West campus may be unavailable at that time.
